Shikumen Fashion Store

The project aims to rejuvenize an old Shikumen style residential house by redesigning it into a clothing store. The proposed site is located in the Jingan district, Shanghai, China. As one of the earliest open ports to foreign trade, Shanghai has become a dominant place for cross-cultural communication.

This historical significance gives the local culture the character of inclusiveness. Jingan district is located at the center of Shanghai and adjacent to six other districts of the city. Not only known as the district where high-end commercial streets are located, the district is also highly recognized for its architectural heritage. Shikumen style architectures are the typical historical architectures on the site.
